One of the causes of stress during the holidays is the fact that it’s more difficult to stay on budget during this time of the year. Aside from the gifts that we all want to get for our loved ones, there are also the dinners we have to prepare for family and friends. We get bombarded with discounts everyday from shops that we pass by.  It’s just so difficult to resist the discounts because some of them are indeed good buys like this triple strand hearts bracelet. Most of us tend to overspend and overuse our credit cards this time of the year.

I chanced upon this blog while looking for suggestions on how to economize this Christmas. I can’t agree more that it’s really important to “shop with a plan” so as not to overspend during the holidays. The blogger, Daniel, even suggested to “leave the credit cards at home” so you can say no to temptations while shopping.  I don’t know about that – I think it’s going to be quite difficult to do that! But one thing that’s worked for me in the past is to compare prices first between 2-3 shops that offer the same product.  Lately, I even find great discounts online that save me a trip to the mall.

This Christmas, let’s all shop wisely so we’ll all sleep better and not get too worried about next month’s credit card bills.
