Sometimes, even though we love to give a special someone a very special gift, we often find that the price is either too high or simply not worth it. For instance, my friend was looking for a nice all around bag for her mom. She found this gorgeous and roomy damask fabric tote bag but she thought the price was a bit high especially since she’s still in school and it didn’t include shipping yet. Although I managed to convince her to get it since I think her mom would love it too. It made me realize just how do most people think about when spending on gifts.

Personally, I think that as long as the gift is worth it and I can actually afford it, then I will try and buy it. On the other hand, some sources say that it is important to consider the relationship you have with the person you are giving it to. If you are giving it to a bestfriend who’s getting married for instance, it would be fine to spend a little over budget since you know that it will truly make them happy. On the other hand, if you are simply attending a wedding for an acquaintance or someone you hardly know, then picking something satisfactory is all right. Another thing you might want to consider would be your actual budget. Although it’s fine to go a little over budget if you spot something that you know the recipient will truly love; try to stick to your budget as much as possible. This will help you save up and not waste money.
